I have this IBM R52 series laptop and it’s got all errors on it now.
I could have easily got it formatted but the problem is that i will lose all of IBM’s software and utilities. Secondly, the warranty will be void. It has Rescue and Recovery program installed and there’s an option to restore to factory state. I want to ask whether the Operating system will also be erased.? What about other IBM software that came pre-installed??

Actually my brother told me that he has some problem with his comp. & probably it is an virus. I dont know exatly what is the matter or which type of virus is that, because I am out of city now. After 2 days I will reach the city. I think that it is better to take an Antivirus program which can work there, So please tell me any link to download such programs free of cost which can be copied into CD. But remember I wants an auto run Antivir. which runs after the attack of the virus. Thank You

Hi, i used the software “Easy recovery” by Ontrack to recover data from an hard disk that i couldn’t boot anymore,and the software worked well because it recovered 71 giga (almost everything).
But it found a folder of 8 giga filled with .gho files and another folder of 7 giga filled with jpgs files (1 giga each!)
how can i open these files?
why didn’t the software give back the original directories as they were?
By the way, it brought back another directory: dir0.qbw, dir1.sit, dir2.ri, dir3.jpg (the one i said before), dir11.swf, dir12.iqy….
i don’t know what to do with these…

OK. Heres my problem: When I looked at avast today after I ran a scan it said that it had detected a trojan horse virus. My heart skipped a beat, but then I quickly clicked on moving it to the chest. When I ran the scan with webroot last night, after 20 hours (literally) it told me it had detected it again about an hour before I deleted with avast. Now, after another 2 hours, avast told me again that it had found a trojan horse in some other place. I’m reallyy getting tired of this virus coming back again and again. I need something that will help me take care of this trojan horse once and for all so that I can play on it in peace. The only bad websites that i can think of that i used is runescape, which is pretty much the only website I go onto on this computer. I will stop playing from now on, but I really want this virus to go away so that this computer that I had just bought for $450 won’t go to waste. If you think I should get some antivirus software that I did not mention, please tell me where I can get it and please tell me what I should do with it. I also have Norton 360 for 2009, but I dont use it. Anyways, if I have to pay for it please dont make it anything online or for over $70. If you want me to download something please tell me where to download it from, but if it is a torrent then don’t even try because I’m not gonna even look at your answer any further. My computer is WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION. I’ve beem having problems with this computer so l recovery it but the MEMORY and SOFTWARES are DELETED. So I don’t have any microsoft softwares. I need to install East Asain Language. Can I install microsoft software so I can install the EL or I have buy a cd to install the East Language and the microsoft softwares? When you go to the GeekSquad at Best Buy they charge atleast 69 or up to 200 dollars in some places for a diagnostic and all they do is run some software that finds out where the problem is. I don’t have that kind of money and I need a way to find out what is wrong with my computer whether it be a software or a hardware issue.

on flight simulators, they have it so that you can look right and there will be a screen with the rightside view. i want to do that for Microsoft flight simulator 2004 at home. get what im saying? i want it so that i can look to left and ill see my left view and vice versa for the right. im not talking about IR tracking. just wondering if there is any hardware or software for this.

I need to forward a port. I can connect to the router and surf the net, but I do not have the administrator password to change the settings by typing 192.168.1.1 in the browser. This is my brothers’ router. I am watching his place until he comes back. I just need it for gaming and using other software that require port forwarding.
