Why Does Norton Save & Restore Reboot My Computer At The Exact Moment It Should Be Finished Loading??

I am trying to load up Norton Save & Restore off the self-booting recovery CD. Everything appears to be working normally when it first starts loading. It shows the ‘Symantec recovery disk loading’ message. After a few more moments it shows the yin-yang Norton Logo Screen. As it continues loading it goes to a cyan background and puts up a white cursor that I can move around. The cd-rom keeps bumping and grinding for several moments(almost sounds like a mechanic tryiing to rip-out an engine). Finally, after 7-8 minutes of what appears to be a normal boot process, the software simply reboots the computer and Im back to square one. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and how I can get past this problem? Please help. Thanks.
