Making Backup Of Vista Off My Comp, I Want To Save It And Install Xp?

Im fed up with vista! had this laptop almost 2 months, finding software compatible is a nightmare, and even if its vista compatible doesn’t mean crap. Best buy refuses to even warranty it if its a software issue for the computer and im concerned that software just may cost me more than its worth. the 2 months I i had this computer was spent trying to get the computer half a** decent for my usage. I want my xp back, but I paid for the vista and do not want to lose it, as when it gets more user friendly I might reinstall it in future.
so how do i make a disk for this? I heard I can make a image file of it, but im not a computer whiz, detailed instructions of how will give you the points. I have a toshiba satellite p205-s6267 and i have a recovery disk, I know this can repair, but not sure if it can reinstall it back to the computer. If i can’t make a copy, Do I have to buy this disk?
FED UP!! with vista

What’s The Best Software That Helps To Identify & Clear Duplicated Files Or Folders?

Sometimes, there are several files being saved in different computers which in turns saved in the centralized external storage (be it in the server, NAS, external hard disk or etc). That occupy lots of unnecssary space in the storage.
What is the most value-for-money & yet effective software that can scan & identify these duplicate files, so that the operator can delete such duplicates to save storage space?

Computer Virus, Need A Reliable Free Software?

A while ago I click a site that gave me a virus (it was supposed to be a video but when you clicked play it said you needed a new version of something and then gave you a virus). So, currently I have spyware doctor from google pack, but it can’t find it and get rid of it. So, if I google something when I go to click the click it doesn’t work sending me to odd websites (like julyfind and other odd things, but not the correct link. So, what can I do to get rid of it. Please no bad antivirus websites, and one that won’t take up too much room on my computer. Thanks!!!

Which Downloadable Software Is Best For Editing A Movie?

I have some video clips that I made at school with my (photo) camera and now I’d like to edit them into a short movie for a competition. I have no software to do it with though. I’ve been thinking of downloading Windows Movie Maker, but I’d like to hear some other opinions and options – which free and safe downloadable software would you recommend for this purpose?
Thank you!!

Are The Rumours About Asus True?-if So Should I Still Trust And Use Them?

Here is the controversies from Wikipedia
“[edit] Piracy controversy
In September 2008, PC Pro discovered through a reader [29] that ASUS had shipped laptops that contained cracked and pirated software. There were also confidential documents from Microsoft and other organizations, internal ASUS documents, and sensitive personal information including CVs. The files were found on both the physical machine and the recovery CD.
At the time, an ASUS spokesperson promised an investigation at “quite a high level”, but declined to comment on how the files came to be located on the machines and recovery media.[30]
The pirated software is believed to have been accidentally copied over from a flash drive during the unattended installation of Windows Vista, due to a parameter in the “unattend.xml” file on the personal flash drive used to script the installation.[31][32]
[edit] User abandonment controversy
In May 2008, shortly after Microsoft released Windows XP SP3, users discovered that ASUS’s A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard was incompatible with that major OS update[33], causing an endless reboot STOP error cycle. For approximately six months, ASUS refused to accept responsibility, provide support, or develop a patch for this incompatibility, even though the A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard was the only one with the problem (other SP3 issues were restricted to improper settings for AMD vs. Intel chips, and were not motherboard-related). Because of its refusal to support SP3, ASUS thereby tacitly also refused to guarantee compatibility between its products and Microsoft operating systems (or updates), during the entire lifespan of a given Windows platform (in this case, the ubiquitous Windows XP operating system).[34]
On December 26, 2008, more than six months after the controversy emerged, ASUS quietly and without apology to users it had abandoned during this time-period, released a BIOS update that purportedly fixed the issue. The patch was released solely as a beta update, and ASUS urged users to only apply this BIOS correction if their systems displayed the relevant symptoms.”
