I Need Help With My Computer?

I have a household with 3 computers 1 desktop and 2 laptops, I have find several virus on the desk top, and my antivirus software has expired, if I. leave this computer plugged in to the same server can it spread the virus to our laptop computers . And does anyone know of any sites where I can download a good free antivirus soft ware?
