Pattern Master is pretty good. Ther’s also Wild Ginger. And Many business use autoCAD and program it for pattern making, which is okay of you don’t mind spending the money on a CAD developer. It depends on the application, if you are making patterns for yourself or a small client base; or if you are making patterns for large scale manufacture. There are different license agreements for software depending on the business size and you do need to follow the license guidelines. I am not a fan of software based pattern design, but I tend to be old school in my method of working. (I suppose the word Luddite is applicable!) Here are a few websites for different pattern making software companies for various applications from home to industry:http://www.wildginger.com/http://www.patternmakerusa.com/http://pattern.stringcodes.com/index.htm…
This is good for small to medium sized businesses:http://www.fashioncad.net/index.html
This is for industry applications: http://www.optitex.com/index.php
Also check out fashion Incubator for more detailed information of CAD based systems: http://www.fashion-incubator.com/mt/
