Do You Know A Good Freeware (or Low Cost) Data Recovery Program?

I have an external disk drive (Maxtor One Touch II 300GB) connected via USB that has recently lost its data.
Windows Vista has given it a new drive letter, and doesn’t see that the drive is formatted. Norton Disk Doctor doesn’t read the drive, either. (This occured after installing Iomega Tools on my PC (under XP Pro on a dual boot) so that I could get data off of an old 100MB Zip disk — I suspect the Iomega software somehow corrupted the external drive — though I can’t be sure.)
I suspect that data is still on the drive, but I don’t want to spend as much on software as I would on a new drive.
Any suggestions or ideas?

For Hard Drive Data Recovery, there are softwares available that can help recover your hard disk’s data and even make your hard disk usable again. These softwares try a low-level read and access of your hard disk and are usually able to make a Hard Drive Data Recovery, and even make your hard disk usable again. Hard Drive Data Recovery, for the most part, is similar to that used for retrieving lost files no matter where they were originally stored.http://the-hard-drive-data-recovery.blog…
