I have many pictures that I really want. I am not sure if I should purchase “data recovery” software. If so, any suggestions?
Here are the details:

-Camera: Sony Cybershot D8C-W55
-Error Message: C13:01 “Reinsert Memory Stick”

hopefully it’s just your card. Your photos might be lost.
One thing you could try is buying a card reader and see if that works. If not, your card is probably done for.
Buy a new card and hopefully it’s not the camera. If you truly need those images, the data recovery software might be necessary.

A problem on the cable connector inside the camera…
Do you still have warranty on it?
You might want to return/exchange or send the camera for a repair, otherwise it definitely isn’t easy to fix by yourself…
—If you are looking to transfer pictures which are already in the camera, use the USB cable for the camera to connect to PC and transfer pictures that way. You can still access the pictures in the camera but just not the memory stick due to the internal problem with the camera..
