I’ve Got A Bsod Continue, Restart And Xp Won’t Load. Replace Hd Reinstalled And Bsod Again After Bitdefnder 10

Well here is the whole story. HP Dv2050us laptop. It was running very slow and had conflicts with Bitdefender 10 installed and also Spydoctor (don’t remember the version). after few impossible days of running very slow, it turn off and when I tried to restart it continue restarting without even reaching the welcome screen. I figured out that I was getting continues Blue Screen Of Death, BSOD, and tried to restart in safe or any single mode, without success. Entered into the setup and tried to do recovery mode, no success, my computer was not “detecting” any Hard drive. I tried with the same hd in a desktop (with an enclosure) and didn’t work, but I could read it with a recovery software, so files are recovered now. Installed new HD in laptop, did all the hard work of loading SATA driver with a floppy disk and was able to install XP. Everything worked perfect. SURPRISE, installing Bitdefender 10 and SpyDoctor, it crashed again, It doesn’t see any HD. Please, do you know whats going on?

  1. There are a number of possibilities. First off, your drives may not be defective after all. Use SMART tools to check the drives status.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.M.A.R.T
If you see that certain S.M.A.R.T attributes are beyond threshold, that will give you an indication of why the hardware failed. It could be, for example, a problem with heat.
Also, when you say “it” doesn’t see any HD, what is “it”? The BIOS or the operating system? If the BIOS sees the HD and not the OS, then its safe to say that you’re looking at software conflicts pure and simple.
You may want to try another operating system on there, such as Ubuntu Linux:http://www.ubuntu.com
Don’t worry – its supports SATA drives right off so you can chuck your floppy! You can also chuck your anti-virus and anti-spyware away as you won’t be catching any Microsoft Windows nasties…

Bit Defender and Spydoctor conflict with each other, each program thinks the other is a virus and trys to quarantine it, so your computer crashes, i will tell you that bit defender will slow your computer to a crawl , it almost killed my quad core with 4gb of ram, try Mcafee Internet Secuity 2008 , and there is no need for spydoctor ,Mcafee does it all.
