My hubby suffered a major stroke with usage of only one hand. He hesitates to invest in any software for voice recognition because he convinced himself that his speech is too inaudible. What would you suggest is out there that can adjust to different levels of slurred words?
Thank you ahead of time for your kind suggestions…

Dragon Software makes decent voice-rec software called Naturally speaking. It can “Learn” words and phrases as they are spoken by the user. It takes time to train the software, but it is reasonably accurate once it learns your voice.
Learn more about it here:http://www.nuance.com/naturallyspeaking/…
Since he has use of one hand, you might also consider a one handed keyboard (simillar to what stenographers use) called the ifroghttp://www.frogpad.com/ (I use the iFrog wearable)
I’m disabled and I use both of these myself. Personally, I’d go with the ifrog. it is a less expensive option and I think maybe a more productive one.
I have heard that “naturally speaking” is the best. There may be specialized software for stroke patients. I have read that Nintendo Wii has applications for stroke rehab. If your husband has a speech therapist, ask that person about software or check with companies or whatever the nation speech therapists professional organization is. There is more good stuff out there all the time. maybe some company would let your husband help to improve their software. You don’t know if you don’t ask. I’d check with Microsoft, too.
Good luck!
