Corrupt only means that there is a problem reading the information - it doesn't mean gone forever (although you probably wont be buying cheap SD cards from Jessops again!)
There are a bunch of ways of getting your info back - none of them easy.
Contact Me at http://mybranding.info/contact.php if you are in the UK and we'll see what we can do to help you recover your pics.

Typically an SD card with dud memory is indicative of not being recognized. Unfortunately I've dealt with many cards like this with bad memory. Some flash card memory is so fragile and volatile.
It's not worth fixing this card either, you may as well file it under G and get a new card....or send it to India and pay considerably 2-3 times the price of the card and there is slim chance the data is recoverable.
Sorry for your loss...

Put it back in your camers, see if your camera can read it.
If it can then you need to have another way to get the data off. Does your camera have a PC lead so you can download from the camera to the PC?
If the camera no longer recognises the memory card, then it's really sick. It's been mechanically damaged, electrostatically damaged or electrically damaged... the data is probably unrecoverable.
If memory card recovery costs the same as disk recovery then you'll pay loads of money for someone to attempt the recovery... are your pictures that valuable or would you be better off going back and taking more pictures? Depends how irreplaceable the events you took pictures of were.

There is a difference between "Card not recognised" and "Card not readable".
If the card is not readable you can recover it by the means of card recovery softwares. If the problem is not solved still you can format it and start using as a fresh card again.
If the card is not recognised means your card has a hardware damage which is beyond repair the format and recovery softwares. You may need to get it repaired by the manufacturer.

My guess is that some how the reset or format of frames was engaged and that is why you lost all the data, I did the exact same thing and was unable to retrieve the data, I thought I would cry, oh, I actually did cry!
