I Have A Sandisk Flash Drive (1gb) That Recently Broke. Both Pcs And Macs Think It Is Unformatted – Help!?

It shows up as a 16MB USB drive with no data that is unformatted. I have a super-important project on it that is due Wednesday – I NEED this data – I’ve tried running various data recovery software, none of which has worked, since they recognize it as a 16 MB flash drive, not the 1 GB it actually is. Do I have to format it, or is there any way I can get it recovered tonight? (I don’t have time to send it to a professional to recover)
Thanks a lot!

The Drive may have lost its driver head. Or The imprint of the drive. It needs to read this before it can be accessed this means you may have to boot from disk warrior an effective data recovery tool for mac. Its then easier to intercept data, even from physically damaged drives
sorry if this was no help

Those Flash Drives are very durable and difficult to break physically..(IMO)
You can’t recover it. Try to remember which machine you used while saving the files.. That machine might have the files.

  4. did you ever do a back up on a external drive?
