This iPod rip is the right program you need. http://ipod-tool.com/ipod-software/jobos...
My sister found it when she had to transfer her iPod files to her new laptop, and now I am still using it.
It supports iPod to PC transfer,iPod to iTunes, PC to iPod transfer and file share between multiple iPods. Files that can be transferred inlcuding music, videos, playlists, photos, podcasts and TV Shows.
The greatest advantage of this program is that the whole process won’t cause any deletion of any files whether on your iPod. All files on your iPod remain unchanged while transfer.
You can free download it to try.
    Good luck!

Depending on what kind of iPod that you have ( as long as it isn’t an iPod touch) you can trick your computer into thinking that it is a storage device by disabling iTunes before you plug it in. That means that you have to turn off the feature that automatically opens iTunes when you plug your iPod into your coomputer. You then go to my computer and fiddle around with some properties to make your computer think that your iPod is a camera or something then you will be able to retrieve all of your lost songs. BTW I would suggest checking in the recycle bin of your computer before you do any of this.

You need to use some iPod transfer program to help you retrieve all songs from iPod back to your computer and iTunes, like this widely used one called Tansee iPod Transfer http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tanse...
The whole process goes as follows:
Simply install this program on your computer. When you plug your iPod to the computer, this program will instantly display all songs and videos on the iPod.You simply select what you wish to transfer and click “Copy” button. Done. All your selected files will be copied to your computer completely and safely. Now you can easily add those songs and videos to your iTunes library.
More importantly, this won’t overwrite any original files on your iPod.
It even has step-by-step guide on the whole process:http://gutensoft.com/Guide/How-to-transf…
    Best luck!

Why don’t you just get the iTunes music folder out of the Recycle bin and restore it back to the Music folder.
That’s the easiest thing to do, isn’t it?
Plus, if you use an iPod recovery thing which gets the songs off your iPod and imports them to iTunes, the song names will be wrecked.
They’ll be called things like “P174374″ etc.

ITunes is the most useless software on the planet, the best ipod software i found is Yamipodhttp://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/down…
it is a simple click and drag software much better than itunes and a lot smaller :)
in my opinion but it does not support iphone yet :in casese you were wondering
all other ipods work well with it though :)
