some times that happens if u r using two antivirus in the same time , … anyways try to use one of them in same time probaply it’s gonna work …go start>run then type msconfig and choose diagnostic from the general box then restart ur computer and use the antivirus …. and do not forget to do all over again after that but choose general instead of diagnostic and also do not forget my 10 points ….lol

To answer your question about AVG FREE…
Well, it has done that to me for years. Just go in there and delete your old AVG and go back to AVG FREE DOWNLOAD and re-download it!!!
This will fix your problem try it first! Just make sure you get rid of your old AVG first. Then re-install it.
Hope this was help to your questions. BTW get rid of Mcfee.
    Unless you got Pro Ver.

This can happen if your Windows Security Center still has it’s defenses up an running. If it is blocking the virus scanner while its updating, it can also affect it.
Your best bet is to choose one or the other and let it have total control.
