A friend told me recently that when he turn on his computer that his operating system did not boot up and the only thing on his monitor was a blue screen. He said, that he tried using the recovery software that came with the computer but nothing happen. I told him that it might be a bad hard drive. He said did set the bio to only load from the CD but he says nothing works. I want to add that my friend can not put his computer in safe mode and he can not go online to get a driver cleaner. I did get a respond from person telling me to do this very thing. Any help concerning this situation would be greatly appreciated.

If he can’t boot the cd with a instalation disk then he’s gonna need a new hard drive. Hate ta say it but he’s ka-put !! He can get programs back off the old hard drive. I hope he has a friend to help. Ya didn’t say how old the hard drive is or how old the PC is, or what system he’s running. Good luck.
Sounds like the HD is toast. Be a pal and download software for him to run and check his hard drive before buying a new HD. The software will fit on a floppy disk and then just boot the computer with the floppy in the drive. It should check the integrity of the hard drive.
I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems.
