My computer does not see my D: (2nd Drive)
I need a free program to revover my files….. maybe someone has a license key for one? I tried PC Inspector File recovery but it would not pick up my D: (2nd Drive) I did the free trial GetDataBack for NTFS and it showed all the files on it….. but I need a license key to copy them to my main hard drive. I can’t afford to buy a program or send it to a professional or I would have did that a month ago. Can someone please help me here.
Thank you!!!

Just Get File Scavanger And/Or Acronis Disk Director
If your computer doesn’t see the D: drive, that most likely does *not* mean it died, but that a cable connection has loosened, or a supporting driver is damaged. If the drive was damaged, in 90% of the cases, Windows will ’see’ it, but if you try to open it you get an error.
You need to first go into BIOS and see if BIOS sees it. If not, open up the computer and recheck the connections for the drive. Recheck the jumper. If it is set as a slave to the primary IDE, you could switch it to the other cable and make it slave to the CD or DVD drive, or vice-versa.
Once BIOS sees it, you can load windows and you should be set. If you can’t get BIOS to see it, you have some other options, which take your time, but don’t cost anything, so post back with that as a new question.
as above check connections, make sure they are firmly seated ie power and the data connector ( sata or IDE cable ) and also that the jumpers are set correctly.
If those are fine ( provided the machine are not within its warranty period ) as opening the case if its in its warranty period you will void the warranty.
Then start windows and right click on my computer –> manage my computer –> disk management
See if you can see any other drives there that do not have a drive letter assigned.
If so then that may be your D drive in which case you can assign it a drive letter, if that does not work then try it on another machine ie a friends computer and make sure to see if it works on there’s if that does not work and you dont hear or feel the drive spinning or starting up then its gone.
Unless you pay for data recovery which is expensive.
Yikes, you would rather STEAL? Shame on you. Keep trying free software, rather than face a $10,000 fine or jail.
Let’s see, instead of paying $79, you would rather get free food and housing at a state facility. That’s a good move. (Leave the soap on the floor).
Good luck and Happy Computing!
Use Avira UnErase or PC Inspector Recovery Tool. Both are freeware
