E.g.when you buy a pc from dell, you turn it on for the first time and all the software is installed, how do they do that because when after you reinstall windows its not all there and you have to set up accounts then install it. Well what im basiclly asking is how do they preinstall all the software without setting up a user account ?

It is process called Unattended Installation which manufacture use. It allow them to fill many questions that XP ask during installation (Allowing some to be asked later when running XP for 1st time like User account, etc). It even allows then to add program (like ms office), to have different product number of XP on each new installation.
    more details here:-http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp…
You can even make your self customise unattended XP cd from your original xp cd, with all patches, hardware drivers, programs (ms office, winzip etc preinstalled ), tweaks, product key, and other info like user account etc using following method:-http://millfam.org/cms/content/view/30/2…http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/slipstre…

When your computer comes fresh from the factory you should have your O.E.M disk shipped with it. Depending on how many disk you have will determine what will be installed on your system when new. A lot of manufactures will install a lot of trial-ware or I will call it crapware because it takes up too much disk space and you have to pay an extra fee to activate it or obtain a license or the software will not operate. This is done so your new computer won’t cost you say $2,000 or more. Software vendors will pay for the right to have their stuff preloaded with the hopes of getting a fee from you, actually it is legalized phishing. It is like going into a movie theater to watch a movie and before the credits roll you see them advertising Coca Cola or something, and you say to yourself mmm Ethel I think I’m thirsty, I think I will go to the concession stand and get me one of those Coca Colas maybe some popcorn to boot, and the more you buy in the theater the more profit it is for them. So pull up a chair and decide do you want Coca Cola or Sprite in your computer, its all the same.
