My bf’s birthday is coming up, and I am deciding between getting him the new ipod touch or the ipod nano. He likes running, so if I go with the nano, I would also get the Nike sneakers, and the software to track his miles. All that together is around the same price as the ipod touch. I know that it is more practical, esp as you cannot use the touch for running, but I feel the touch is more fun and exciting? I don’t know, any suggestions/advice would be helpful. Thanks!

In my opinion, the iPod Touch is not going to be amazing…maybe easier to navigate, but outside of that, there are better things to buy.
I’m a runner myself, and i know I would much, much rather get a nano, an armband to hold it, and new sneakers.
My advice though…If he’s really running, go to a real running store with him, not something like nike or foot locker, but somewhere like Runner’s Edge, Super Runner’s Shop, etc., where the people have experience, and they’ll tell you what they run if you ask. (i know you may not have heard of these stores, i was giving examples from my area, sorry!)
For software to track your miles…well, you don’t need to buy one for him. It’s easier to set him up an account at flotrackr (flotrackr.com), its free and it’s just as effective to track miles, although you need to know how far you’ve run, and in how long…
Hope this helps!
