I just bought a new computer with Vista on it. It came with McAfee preinstalled. When I open up the security suite, it says that to protect computer and files action is required. When I click it it just gives me the option to fix it when I click fix, it will give me a window in the bottom right corner of my screen that gives me the option to register now or later. I click now and nothing happens. I have tried to click register now several times for the bast few months and nothing still. It says that internet and network is protected and email and IM say that there is action required to. Is there anything I can do to register. I tried going to the McAfee site and trying to register but there is nothing there! I know that alot of threads say to uninstall McAfee and install and free antivirus software. But I had AVG on my last computer and well it ate it. I mean it got viruses anyways. Please let me know what I can do to fix this problem with McAfee. Thanks

OK so here’s the deal i want to buy an alienware computer i hear their pretty good but also expensive! I’m a gamer so i need some good performance from my machine i play games like world of warcraft and half life which take the life out of my little toshiba laptop. Anyway the alienware i want cost about 6.5 thousands dollars here are the specs so i was wondering if someone knew if i could find something like that but cheaper or maybe you know someone who can get it cheap for me whatever you can do it helps im not some rich spoiled brat and hurricane ike put holes in our wallets so im just your average kid trying to get his dream machine

I bought my top-of-the-line Sony VAIO nearly 2 years ago for around $2,100. It has a 400 GB internal hard drive, and it has recently started making more noise than usual. As far as operation, it has never had an issue. I recently ordered and received the original recovery discs from Sony and I plan on wiping my system and starting fresh due to dozens of installs and uninstalls of hardware and software.
I am upgrading my RAM and video card in the next few days. Would it be worth my money to replace my hard drive, or should I leave well enough alone? Also, i’m a college student so my money is far from unlimited. Thanks for your input!

I read that if your computer is already infected, antivirus software in your own comp might be bypassed already and will miss it, so you have to scan from another computer.
