Should I Use Hp System Recovery? College Finals Are Coming Up, How Do I Fix My Virus Infected Computer?!?

I have a hp pavilion a800n. I think its got viruses, spy ware, or hackers any of that good stuff . Basically it’s MESSED. When I turn it on the desktop wallpaper changes to “you have fatal errors on your pc due to spy ware” and im getting lots of pop ups and its SLOW. I cant do anything! I tried system restore and it doesn’t work I can’t even open the task manager b.c it says its been disabled by the administrator?! How do I get rid of these problems? I want to do HP system recovery but I absolutely cant afford to have my files deleted; and if i need to backup my files-how do i do that? or should i go buy an antivirus software? [im typing this from a friend's laptop b.c my computers not useable] PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!

What’s Your Favourite Free Software?

With all the millions of free bits of software out there, from the incredibly good to the less so, what are your favourite bits and why?
Mine are…
Tagscanner (http://www.xdlab.ru/en/) – no other piece of software (expect perhaps Excel!) has saved me more time than this program. It’s a music library management tool,, focusing on your tags, allowing you to rename based on tag info, or set tag info based on file name etc. Very powerful!
WinAmp (http://www.winamp.com/) – Choice of music player always brings up debate, but I’ve used Winamp since version 1, and continue to do so. I find it very flexible & customizable. Shame it’s not as compact & efficient as it used to be, but changing the skin helps with this.
AVG Antivirus Free (http://free.grisoft.com/) – Now a combined anti-virus & anti-spyware tool (think it used to be 2 separate programs), no one has an excuse to get viruses or spyware when this superb bit of kit is available to home users for free!

What Is The Most Hassle Free Antivirus Program Out There?

Here are the hassles I’m trying to avoid:
* high resource usage (Panda Software)
* a virus disabling the antivirus (Norton)
* Internet Explorer dependencies (Mcafee)
* bad tech support (almost every antivirus vendor)
* firewall or antivirus pop-ups (systray notification is fine)
Ideally, the vendor would have forums, user-submitted documentation and other mechanisms short of contacting technical support to solve problems, and a bug reporting form.
If the answer is Trend Micro, will someone please help me find someone who can support it free of charge without my having to call them? The spyware scan seems inconsistent sometimes finding things sometimes not (2 minutes of each other), it has trouble removing TSPY.SN and keeps popping up to tell me it found TSPY.SN creating what is essentially an infinite loop.
When I boot into safe mode, the product fails to work properly.
Ideally, I would want a security suite.

Removing Vista And Installing Xp With Old Recovery Disk?

Ok, so let me say that I am not very computer intelligent. I can use them fine, but when it comes to software, I am a moron.
That being said, I recently purchased an Inspiron laptop from Dell and it came loaded with Vista. I HATE VISTA!!! My computer constantly freezes to the point where I have to do a hard restart and I lose whatever work I have not saved. Dell tech support is being no help to me. I have some windows XP recovery disks from a Dell desktop that I bought back in 2001. Would I be able to use those recovery disks to put XP on my new laptop? How would I go about removing Vista and then installing XP on my computer? I have read about people using XP and Vista on the same computer, but I don’t want to do that, I want Vista off of my computer.

I Want To Print Labels For Products I Sell In Plastic And Glass Bottles. What Software Can I Use To Make Them?

I’ve figured out that I need weatherproof labels for the products I need, and I have a logo that is in a vector EPS format. But when I use the Avery label making software the EPS (and any other images I import) are very grainy and look terrible.
What software would allow me to make professional quality labels, that allow images to be high quality and is easy to work with?

What Is A Good Software For Publishing A Tutorial/manual/book Online?

OK. Not trying to be obnoxious, but I really asked this question in a couple of different places and I am not finding an answer. People try to be helpful for which I am grateful but the give as solution for a different problem. Everybody thinks that I ma trying to design a fancy looking book or anything. Here I will try to explain –
I need software – as simple as possible and possibly free – with which software (php script/plug-in, whatever) I can publish a simple structured book like most online tutorials, manuals, guides are. They usually contain a structured, indented contents table/menu and next, previous, up hyperlinks to move around the pages. Here are very close examples of documents done that way.
