How Can You Tell If A Technician Really Did Perform Data Recovery?
I recently had to have my HD replaced as well as have data recovered from that HD on my apple notebook. I spent around $1500 to have all of this done, it really sucked, especially since my notebook is only 2 years old and its an APPLE, I thought these things aren’t supposed to happen with APPLE pcs. Anyway I had to pay, and I know from experience and from the constant disclaimer from the shop doing my data recovery, that I might have to reinstall software and that some data may be missing.
Well miraculously, my notebook behaves the same and ALL data is available, from my original emails to even notes I stored (which they said would not be salvaged, because they are preferences). This to me seems odd, because even when you install a NEW OS, this does not occur sometimes. It just seems to good to be true, and I have the odd creepy feeling that they found some workaround, and that my Apple Notebook did not have a data recovery performed, or have a NEW HD installed — pretty simple, I feel like I have been ripped off.
Is there anyway to really tell???

Can Anyone Give Me Advice On A Scanner/software Combination That Instantly Appraises Books?
Apparently there is software that can help you instantly appraise the value of books when used in conjunction with a type of scanner. I want to be able to go to a used bookstore and use this equipment to instantly appraise books.
I saw a couple using such a system at a used bookstore, looking, as it were, for the gems amongst the rubble.
Can anyone give me more detail on this? My ultimate goal is to sell used books online.

Psp Phat Recovery Mode?
My psp is an original psp phat, the current version is 5.01, i have the modded software set up for 4.01 m33 and i just need to get it into recovery mode but that doesnt work. Holding the R shoulder button and powering on doesn’t work, so do anoyne know any other ways to put it into recovery mode?

What’s The Overall Best Video Editing Software For A Beginner?
I am thinking of beginning video-logging frequently on YouTube, however, I am at a crossroads about the best audio and video editing software.
Preferably it will be easy to pick up, and have capabilities like colour themes, (black and white, antique, negative etc), comes pre-packed with audio you can add to the video (or the ability to add your own audio in) and things like that. I know absolutely nothing, and advice would be nice.

If I do a system recovery (taking it back to factory settings) will it permanently delete all my files or can they be recovered??
If the files can be recovered is there software I can purchase or download that will permanently delete all files forever from my hard drive??? I want to clean out my laptop and it is very important no file can be traced.
