i’ve loaded additional software/documents into a new PC. is it still okay to do recovery discs now?
btw, i was also connected to the internet and have an external hard drive connected when i did the recovery discs. it wasn’t intentional but i pulled them both when i realised mid-way during the creation of the discs, is that okay too?

My pc is generally messed up, so I’m going to do a system recovery. I have the OEM discs and all the software discs that I want to re-install, including Office 2003 Professional. I have backed up all my data files to an external HD, including Outlook Personal Folders. I used Belarc to capture an up to date system profile.
After running the recovery, what are the best steps? Should I do all the Windows updates first, like SP2, or install all my software then do the updates? My original config was XP Pro SP1. Should I load all my data files last?

Okay, I had a zune, and it wouldn’t turn on. Called customer support, sent the zune, got a completely new one back. I installed it, and am currently adding all my songs onto this one. But I want to un-install the old one, considering I don’t even have it any more. Obviously, I don’t want to have to un-install the whole software. Anyone know how?

do I have to call someone out to the house to rehook up the internet connection? I don’t have any CDs/software, so I don’t know what will happen if I do a system recovery on my PC. I suppose it will read that there is new hardware attahed, (the modem and whatnot), but will it hook itself up?

I don’t if anyone would know anything about this but I recently was cleaning my Acer 5610 Series Notebook & accidentally erased everything on my computer. Now when I start it up it says: Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: Insert your Windows installation disc & restart your computer. So the only problem is I have no recovery disc! It didnt even come with the notebook. So I was wondering if anyone could help me out with info on how to get a recovery disc. I emailed Acer last week but they haven’t responded yet. I’d really appreciate it if someone could fill me in……Thanks a lot
