I had a problem with my cd -rom drive on my windows xp pc, it was freezing every so often. So i uninstalled it and thought i would use the recovery disc to reinstall it.When i installed the red floppy recovery disc, a message informed me that the pc wasnt genuine( i had an upgrade and new motherboard fitted 2 years ago, so this could be the reason. Now i cannot play cds or dvds as the player is no longer on the pc.Is there some way i can reinstall the driver without a cd and without having buy software from a company to repair it over the internet.I tried the recovery program, but a message came up that the f drive is damaged or been removed, which it has.So i cannot reverse the removal. Please help
