What Is The Best Over-all Antivirus Software To Use?

I need to know because what if my cpu gets damaged and i want to do system recovery, How am i going to do it w/out the vista cd? Or if there’s another program that can do it, i’d love to know

Original Emachine Factory Software?
Hello, I recently got a virus on my computer and I ended up having to buy a new HD (not bad – Western Digital, very quiet, 250GB for $52.99 @ New Egg).
I own an eMachines T5020 desktop and with my old HD, I had a really nice suite of Software. The thing I miss most about this array of software is a program called Power DVD7, a well known PC DVD player. I had a full version of this software and it came bundled with the PC – a great value!
Of course, with the new HD I don’t have these programs anymore. I am actually surprised with this because I used the Windows XP Restore Disk that was provided to me from the eMachines factory, thinking that I would get back to how my computer was the first day I set it up (with all of that nice software on it).
I was wondering if there was any way I could get this software back, because I believe that I am entitled to it because my parents paid for the computer and therefore the software that eMachines chose to put on it in the first place.
I’m thinking that this software was put on the HD, and not on the Recovery Disk, so I’m stuck. I really like Power DVD and I downloaded a free trial, but it’s been all used up. 
Any suggestions?
