How Do Data Recovery Companies Recover Data From Formatted Hard Drives?

I don’t need to recover any data, i’m just curious:
I know there are pieces of software that can recover deleted files (and are very useful), but a formatted drive? I know ther might be slight fragments of data left, but i wouldn’t have thought you can recover a whole file.http://www.ontrackdatarecovery.co.uk/pho… says it can recover photos from a formatted hard drive, but how do they do it? Through more advanced software? and if so, why isn’t the freeware software able to do that?

Is There Software To Give Employees Access To Certain Passwords After The Manager Has Given His Approval?

We’re a webdevelopment company with 10 programmers. These employees sometimes need access to an FTP-server. I need an effective solution for providing only one employee the password (that changes every month). Preferably, the employee does a password request and the manager only needs to approver this by clicking on a link.
Does anyone know of any software that can do this.

I Need A Mac Compatible Hd Video Camera And Somewhat Cheap Editing Software?

I’ve been looking around (with not too much luck) to find a pretty nice HD camcorder and video editing software for the Mac. I’m trying to find the camera for under $400, and the software nothing too fancy but I’d like green-screen compatibility. Anyone have any tips? It would mean a lot!

Ipod Recovery Not Working?

My ipod touch backlight started flashing yesterday (Srs, was like a rave in there) so I reset it (Power/hold and home button) and it said I needed to connect it to itunes. I did, and it says ‘An ipod has been detected in recovery mode, would you like to…blah blah blah etc’ So I click it, it starts downloading, and the software never finishes downloading because it says there there was a problem downloading the ipod software, the network connection timed out and it keeps making the noise it makes when you disconnect something from the USB port, which I haven’t. HELP, I need it for surviving school D:
