What Software And Equipment Is Best To Start Off With For Editing Films And Animation?

My goal is to become a movie director and/or animator. I have used Pinnacle Studios 9.0 for some time, editing scenes that I captured on my old Sony Handycam Vision. However, my camera does not allow for great filming, and my movie making software does not have the special effects I am looking for, i.e. gunshots, explosions, etc. I plan to spend around $8,000 on equipment to start me off on serious filming. I am only sixteen, but I want to have experience for when I go to film school, or wherever I go in life. I plan to buy a new computer along with the software. Can anyone tell me specifically what would be good for editing/animating? What computer and camcorder would be best for someone on my budget? And what software should I look for? I have a few ideas, like an Alienware Area-51 m9750, a JVC Everio GZ-HD7, Adobe After Effects and Flash, but I need advice. Please help. Thanks.

Can Anyone Help Me Set Up My Wireless/local Area Network Connection?

OK, I just did a recovery on my gateway MX6214 and in the connection thing theres only the 1394 connection, I cant find the wireless and local area network connections, i downloaded the drivers from gateway, but the software says no supported network adapters on the system, how can i see what my network adapter model and stuff so i can look it up on the web?

I Had A New Hard Drive Installed In My Laptop , But My Recovery Disc D/n Work How Can I Get My System Working?

I have a Sony Vaio PCG-K15 laptop, and I recently had a new hard drive installed but the recovery disc only downloads 1/2 way.Sony no longer has the recovery disc. Can I just re-installed windows XP and then download the software to the rest of the programs? Or is there a place to get a copy of the disc?

Data Recovery Restoration?

i recovered and restored some files using active@ file recovery, but the “final product” is a bunch of folders with names like “FOLDER00000099″… for what i can tell folders have the same organization they had before i deleted them, and i’d like to have the folder names back… is there any software, or any option within active@ FR that allows me to restore the entire thing and not just the orphan files…?
and on a different note… amongst the files were some .doc and .xml files that became corrupted with the restoration… i open them and i get a window asking me to select a codification method and all i see is a bunch of signs, its completely unreadable… i need something to REPAIR this files, they’re really important and can’t be sacrificed…

Do I Qualify For The Recovery Rebate If I Was Claimed As A Dependent For 07 But Not For 08?

I was claimed on my parent’s 2007 return as a dependent and am now independent of them for my 2008 return. Do I qualify for the recovery rebate credit ($600 for an individual), and if so, why does my tax software show $600 on line 70 of form 1040? Shouldn’t that number be “0″? My ‘calculated’ return amount is only showing the amount I overpaid, not including any of the rebate credit.
