DONT DOWNLOAD AVG…….just look & read my source
AVG IS ONLY FOR POPULARITY BUT IN DETECTION OF WILD VIRUSES ARE VERY POOR / LOW DETECTION RATE AND ALSO DOESNT HAVE ANTI-ROOTKITS ( where viruses, malware, spyware worm, adware and many more hidding, staying, spread viruses to ur computer…ect ) AS COMPARED WHAT I Recommend…ACCORDING TO MY SOURCE….
In my personal opinion the BEST antivirus is AVIRA it has FREE and PAID COMPLETE SOFTWARE…..
I RECOMMEND FREE AVIRA ANTIVIR or AVIRa premuim it has LESS memory usage raher than many of the other antivirus programs ( free & paid ) available (e.g.AVG,Norton, Kaspersky, McAfee, bitdefender …)
You’ll be amazed how thoroughly FREE AntiVir protects:
1. detects and removes permanently more than 1500000 viruses
2. always among the winners of comparison test featured in computer journals
3. the resident Virus Guard serves to monitor file movements automatically, e.g. downloading of data from the internet
4. scanning and repair of macro viruses
5. protection against previously unknown macro viruses
6. safeguard against cost generating dial-up program
7. protection against trojaner, worms, backdoors, jokes and other harmful programs
8. easy operation
9. Internet-Update Wizard for easy updating
10. Protection against previously unknown boot record viruses and master boot record viruses http://www.free-av.com/http://www.avira.com/en/downloads/avira_…http://www.avira.com/en/downloads/avira_...
……i include were u will get LICENCE CODE….https://license.avira.com/en/promotion-6…
I reccommend also this FREE antispyware….http://www.malwarebytes.org/http://www.superantispyware.com/http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/d…http://www.ccleaner.com/
Internet Explorer has a built in pop-up blocker. Go to Tools>Popo-up-blocker>Pop-up blocker settings> Change filter level to high. Its at the end of the window.
The second antispyware was a scam. The ones that say they are free but then charge a fee don’t actually do anything. they tell you that you have lots of viruses and such but in reality you may not.
i use avg and superantispyware and my computer is in tip top shape!
Uninstall the two programmes your using at the minute and download avg and superantispyware. Run avg first, then the other one. You should be good then.
if not, heres a link to a similar question with a great answer for gettin rid of viruses.http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…
Your computer might not be running slow because of a virus, you might have too many things installed. Go to start, control pannel, performance and maintenance, free up space on your hard disk. Do that on both drives and then go to “rearrange items on your hard disk t make programmes run faster” (thats right under free up space on your hard disk)
then go to start, my compouter, right click on the (C:) drive, go to properties, tools, check now, automatically fix file system errors.
After all that then you should be running smoothly!
Spybot Search and Destroy will allow you to effectively scan your computer and remove threats. Updated almost every week and 100% freeware, this program also allows for you to “Immunize” your computer by using methods inside your browser.
Both Firefox and IE compatible, along with many other browsers.
I have found that AVG (both free and paid for version) is by far one of the best antivirus programs i have ever used.
i would recommend NOD32 as it actually doesnt run at start up.. it has a timer that waits 7 minutes so that when my computer is running fast, it will run effeciantly. nod 97% all the way
Its so annoying when you install the program run it then it wants you to register
I now use AVG its totally free and does a great job. Its very popularhttp://free.avg.com/download?prd=afe
I use avast, its completely free, and works well, also AVG is supposeed to be another very good one.
I use AVG and ZoneAlarm, plus Yahoo! Toolbar and AdBlocker Plus. I’ve been doing it for years with no problems or noticeable lag on normal operations.
AVG is crap.
everyone seems to like it because it’s free.
that’s why it’s so popular.
McAfee is Definitely the best.
AVG is the best free anti-virus. It’s not so great like Kaspersky, but it’s better than avira and stuff.
get avg spybot seacrh and destroy and adware run all three all 3 are free and AMAZING
AVG free edition http://www.avg.com
AVG. It’s great. Used it for years, never had a virus.
AVG and SPYBOY SEARCH AND DESTORY
AVG:http://free.avg.com/
AVG is the best FREE antivirus programme, because it’s quite adept in all areas. Internet security, home security and anti-spyware.
But nevertheless, it’s not as purchased antivirus, and I definitely would not recommend upgrading AVG, because it’s quite useless compared to the better ones available on the market.
In the Aug 2007 to May 2008 analysis from Virus Bulletin, the number of Wild Viruses (viruses that are currently active and spreading on the web, according to WildList Organization International) that infiltrated each of the following systems are:
Kapersky 77,
McAfee 134,
NOD32 0,
Norman 72,
Panda 53,
Sophos 38,
Symantec (Norton) 13,
TrendMicro (similar to AVG) 121.
These are the more well used antivirus programmes, and only Norton Symantec and NOD32 stands out for results. For all-round protection, Symantec costs me for USD$110 a year, whereas NOD32 only costs me $14. I think $14 for a good protection programme for a year is quite cheap, that’s almost $1 per month!
Both Symantec and NOD32 update daily, whereas Symantec updates 3 times a day, NOD32 has 15 routine updates a day, as well as special ones for new virus outbreaks.
I think if you can get NOD, you should, otherwise AVG is better than nothing, but like most free antivirus programmes, they’re pretty useless at detecting Wild Viruses.
If you’re patient however, you can get Spybot S&D, and they have a side programme called the Egg Timer, that tells you whenever something is changed in your computer, and you can save these changes (Approve or not approve), then if bugs try to enter into your computer, or change things, you can deny the change and save your decision, and the programme will deny the change by itself the next time it pops up. So after using it for a month, you should be able to disable all the bugs that are trying to harm your computer.. but it’s a two-edged sword, as if you don’t know much about registry changes, it may hurt your normal usage, and create a freeway for bugs to enter in when you accept certain changes that you don’t recognise to be bugs.
That’s the danger, but as a techie myself, it wasn’t much a problem for me to use.
Hope this helps. =)
