Can Anybody Recommend A Software Of Backing Up Important Computer Files & Data?

The software has to have a feature that allows me to set a time or date to backup my files automatically.
It must have a feature that does not re-write over backed up data but adds newly added files to the backup instead of doing the whole backup again from scratch.
I don’t mind if the software is free or costly. My music and work documents are important to me and if I was to ever loose them I would be so upset. Which is why i am here asking this question.
Thanks for your help.

If you are on Windows XP Pro or MCE, use the Backup utility. It allows you to set a time and date to backup automatically. And it has an option called “incremental backup” where it will add files that are not in the previous backup and it will not remove files that are currently in the backup.
I started to recently use it and it has saved my computer at least once.
Note: If you are on XP Home, you have to go get your XP install disc and install the backup utility from the CD
Or, if you want something more user friendly and don’t mind paying for it, I recommend EMC Retrospect Express HD. Retrospect came with my external hard drive and I love using it.

  2. PING, google it. it doesn’t have the auto backup and you have to restart using the boot disk. or windows comes with one in XP. It’s under Start: all programs> accessories> System tools> Backup
