What’s Your Favourite Free Software?
With all the millions of free bits of software out there, from the incredibly good to the less so, what are your favourite bits and why?
Mine are…
Tagscanner (http://www.xdlab.ru/en/) – no other piece of software (expect perhaps Excel!) has saved me more time than this program. It’s a music library management tool,, focusing on your tags, allowing you to rename based on tag info, or set tag info based on file name etc. Very powerful!
WinAmp (http://www.winamp.com/) – Choice of music player always brings up debate, but I’ve used Winamp since version 1, and continue to do so. I find it very flexible & customizable. Shame it’s not as compact & efficient as it used to be, but changing the skin helps with this.
AVG Antivirus Free (http://free.grisoft.com/) – Now a combined anti-virus & anti-spyware tool (think it used to be 2 separate programs), no one has an excuse to get viruses or spyware when this superb bit of kit is available to home users for free!

DVDShrink, you can rent your favorite movies, copy them and keep them forever withou having to shell out all that hard- earned dough, you just copy them and your all set, besides it works well with nero.

My favourite is RMP2.
It’s a calendar/diary that sits on your desktop and automatically opens as you boot up telling you what you have on today.
The best bit is it’s sooooo easy to use.

…and Audacity if I didn’t have a Dell with a Sigmatel HD audio, which is a total con by Dell as a sound card, making recording almost impossible.
Adobe Photoshop is definetly my favourite!
Got to be DVDshrink, great bit of free software
The best free software for me is:
iTunes. It has a great interface for organising your music into playlists.
Zattoo (http://zattoo.com/) . This software is awesome. You can watch TV on your computer for free!
Joost (http://www.joost.com/). This is a free TV online software.
Adium. Adium (http://www.adiumx.com/). It is a free instant messaging application for Mac OS X that can connect to MSN, Jabber, Yahoo IM and other instant messengers that you miggt have. This means that you log into only one IM application.
