I just got spyware off my computer and I used many anti spyware programs. I’m using windows defender right now but I’m still having issues with my files. Sometimes when I do things like click itunes, clear IE’s cache, or use the search program on my computer, I get a blue screen. It gives some error saying a driver has been over run and it could be a stack – based buffer. I have no idea with that means and I’m sick of this happening. I’ve tried everything, I mean it too. The error told me I should un install any new hard or software. I did all the ones I could remember, still didn’t work. Now I want to do a system recovery. I want everything off my computer expect for all the files needed for it to work properly. I don’t have a windows XP recovery disc because I lost the one my computer came with. My friend has one and he used it on his. It re installed windows XP for his Dell computer. Will it work on my HP computer? I have Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

If he has the same system as you do. hardware settings need to be the same.
Maybe post the question at http://www.desktopsupport.tv/phpBB3/inde... or go here to find computer help info – http://www.desktopsupport.tv/dttv.php
I rather doubt a recovery disk for Dell will work on an HP. I’d contact HP and see if they could ship you the set for your model. They’re usually pretty good about that.
Hope that helps.
No, that will not work unless you are real lucky!
Instead go to http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/defau...
and do a full service scan. It will take a long time but I’m pretty sure it will straighten out your problems.
yesssir….ive done it successfully before.
ya u can
but anyone know if a system recovery disk will work if your whole computer program is wiped and when u turn on it says like system/32/ cannot be found
It will work, used an hp recovery disk on my pc that’s an acer and it worked fine. But just have drivers ready for your pc as some you may need. After I installed the hp one, it didnt pick up my sound card and had to download it from acer’s website and it worked. After you installed it just go to device manager and it will show you what drivers you need, but it mostly happens with onboard soundcards. nuff said
