Any Full Version Free Photo Recovery Programs?

Hi,
I stuffed my sisters laptop by mistake and she had to re-format the hard drive, now she has lost all of her digital photo’s and I mean all, sadly the photo’s of her daughter from birthdays and christmas and all the others are now gone.
Main problem is we haven’t got enough money to buy any software yet and I know the photo’s can be recovered as I have found 2 programs that have done just that.
Problem with them is that to save the photo’s we need to buy the programs.
So the long and the short of it is:
We need desperately to find a FREE FULL version of a digital photo recovery program to recover them back from her hard drive.
Please help.
Also know that as soon as we get the photo’s back they are being saved to CD and sent via email to family so we should never have this problem again, fingers crossed anyway.

   If she formatted the drive, she erased all the files on it.
   If you delete a file it can be recovered if you haven’t saved something over it. But a formatted disk? They can be recovered (the FBI can recover anything as long as you didn’t use an axe on the drive – and maybe even then), but the cost is astronomical.
