How Do You Uninstall A Zune Device But Not Software?

Okay, I had a zune, and it wouldn’t turn on. Called customer support, sent the zune, got a completely new one back. I installed it, and am currently adding all my songs onto this one. But I want to un-install the old one, considering I don’t even have it any more. Obviously, I don’t want to have to un-install the whole software. Anyone know how?

   I think this is called forget the device..you want to make sure you are under that device and not the new one.
   It should be under zune desktop software settings.
   Then under device…likely under sync options……if would be where it would allow you to clear that particular device out. I have done it before but can’t remember exactly the steps. But, this should be it…you don’t want to clear out your new settings but remove the old…so make sure the old icon is showing on the right hand side with the name of the old device before you click the forget the device button.
