please! i downloaded the 2.0 software thing for free off this site http://uploaded.to/file/ih0z65/iPod1,1_2… i did the whole shift and restore thing and clicked on the software and it put my ipod in recovery mode. it malfunctioned and now it’s staying in recovery mode, but itunes isnt recognizing it

Something similar happened to mine today too(ipod touch)
Something on it got corrupted and I had to restore it to factory settings, as like a new ipod type restore……but the first restore I did from a backup point on the ipod, which went sour and I had to call apple tech support who told me to do a full restore to factory setting back up to make sure that corrupted stuff did not go back on from any backup. It worked, and I recommend you do the same…..it will wipe everything out on the ipod, good and bad, but it’s the bad you want to get rid of. As long as your itunes library is in tact don’t worry, the media is still there to fill up your soon to be empty ipod.
Then you will have to put all your media back on the ipod from itunes library, which is a bit time consuming, but worth it to have a clean ipod with a fresh start.
I completely agree with Mad Dog, false advertising isn’t going to get you answers. If it’s such an easy 10 points then you should be able to do it on your own?
If it’s so easy why can’t you do it?
