my memory stick is corrupted what Free software is out there for data recovery. i have used a few but they charge you

    hi phil
    its a real pain when you cant access dat due to corruption and as you have mentioned most of the data recovery software around costs quite a bit
    however there is a few free data recovery programs around such as Data Recovery 2.3.1(http://www.download.com/Data-Recovery/30… and Pandora Recovery 1.3.7(http://www.download.com/Pandora-Recovery…
    these can recover data from various types of file systems including fat,fat32 and n.t.f.s
    also try PC Inspector File Recovery 4(http://www.download.com/PC-Inspector-Fil… and Data Disc Recovery (DDR)(http://www.download.com/Data-Disc-Recove…
    these may not be as good as what the dedicated data recovery experts use however bare in mind they charge up to £500 to recover data lost due to damage or corruption

    getbackdata has worked great for me for getting stuff off memory sticks. Check out http://www.freehdrepair.com if you can’t do it yourself.
