Avg Antivirus – How Can I Disable Virus Checking Of Ms Word Files?

I have AVG Free Antivirus software installed in my computer. When I open an MS Word documents, it checks for virus delaying the opening of the file. How can I disable this function? Thanks for your help.

Can’t seem to find the cause of your problem. I have AVG as well but had no problems. If you are opening it from an E-mail or Zip file then it will be scanned.
