Hardware is the physical parts of the computer you can touch and remove with your hands.
Software is the virtual stuff that runs on the hardware that allows you to interact with the hardware using your screen, mouse, and keyboard.
Hardware is the car itself, and software is the driver.
The hardware performs the action and tasks, the driver gives it the tasks and actions.
Keep in mind there are also different types of hardware – just like different types of cars and automatic, stickshift, 8 cylinder, 4 cylinder, minivans, sportscars, etc …
And there are also different types of drivers – male, female, tall, short, American, European, etc … Just like the software some of them use different languages (Windows / Linux / VMS / etc ). And some drive on the other side of the road (Mac).

Hardware are the pieces that are attached to the computer. Let’s start with the “mouse.” The mouse allows you to manuever the cursor on the screen. You can purchase a “mouse” in almost any color or shape. There is one that is connected to the computer and there is a wireless one, that gives you more freedom. There are optical “mice” that has a light on the bottom instead of the ball. If you use the computer a lot, you might want to try the “mouse” that has a large red ball on top, for easier tracking.
Computer software programs enable computers to perform specific tasks. It is removable and is differentiated from the physical components of the computer system which is called hardware. Application software allows a user to do something specific as in a word processing software program. System software allows the computer to run application software by interfacing with hardware and other software made to user specifications. I hope that answers our first question “What IS Software”. So let’s move on with our basic computer training!. we are now left with the second question ” What Is CPU”.
