I have a new laptop (Compaq Presario ) and I’m supposed to make a set of recovery discs ….
(A) Is it best for me to make them AFTER I put all my software on .i.e for my digital camera …my Printer ….etc…or Before ?
(B) How do I actually go about adding all these software programs …I’m a bit nervous …I’m a novice to computors …I don;t want to screw anything up
(C) Is it best to make recovery discs on CDS Or DVDs ? ..and what TYPE should I use ? RW ? or the other type?
Thanks for your help.

Make the discs as soon as possible using blank DVD media. Most computers support both DVD+R and DVD-R media, but make sure you buy good quality discs as these are going to be your permanent recovery discs from now on. This is a trend that most, if not all, PC manufacturers are sadly going to save money on pressing recovery discs.

Keep in mind that Recovery Discs will only recover the recovery partition on your computer. I have an HP DV1000 and is exactly the same way, which is very inefficient.
