I Need A Good Video Converter Software Program For Windows Xp?

I want to edit a video from my cell phone on Windows Movie Maker and I think I need a video converter. Not sure why my videos don’t open up on Movie Maker.
Any good software I can download from the internet, preferably free!

The one I use is “Any video converter” the free version, works great.
