Is There A Computer Software That Allows You To Create A Logo?

I’m in need of help. I want to create a logo/banner/something that relates to those too. I’m wondering if there’s a software out there, in which you can create a text and make it look cool, etc. Also if it allows me to add text to a picture, that’d be great. Windows Paint is not good enough. Is there a program out there that allows me to do this? I don’t want the text to be plain, I want it to be different.

Try Adobe Fireworks..i can usually crank out some awesome logos with that program in a few clicks…it has everything and anything that you would want for logo design…also you can use photoshop cs4 to do some more detail logo creation by exporting the logo from fireworks into photoshop and then re import it back to fireworks to finalize….sounds complicated but really is just a few clicks.
