Can You Recommened Any Tool That Can Easily Create Software Simulations And Demonstrations?

My firm develops software for various printstreams, and we need to give our customers tutorials on how to use our software. Can you please recommend any easy to use tool in which I can develop some simulations and demonstrations on how to use our software for the customers?
Any tool besides Macromedia Captivate would be helpful.

   I’ve done something similar using powerpoint with screenshots… also bulents screen capture can record your desktop or within a given window, a free version was available somewhere…
