My brother bought a 8GB sansa clip. I installed the rhapsody software i guess or whatever its called. I already had two old rhapsody shortcuts on my desktop, because i bought a used computer. Any how, i want to know how to delete them like forever from my computer. if i delete them would the new version installed delete two? Also how to delete other shortcuts or software since i don’t use them.

1.When deleting a shortcut, be aware that this is all you’re doing. You’re not uninstalling a program in any way. Yes, I know this may seem blatantly obvious to you, but it isn’t to everyone, so I stated it.
The shortcut goes to the Recycle Bin. Be sure you go to the Recycle Bin, and delete it from there. (Empty Recycle Bin)
2.When deleting a program, it’s best to go to All Programs, (Start>Hover your mouse on All Programs), and then to the software name in question.
Look for Uninstall. (Uninstall, and whatever the software program name is)
If there is no Uninstall option for the program, then go to Add/Remove Programs. (Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs)
After Add/Remove Programs loads, look for the software program. Left click on the name. Now go down in the highlighted ‘bar’ on it, and click on Remove. Follow what it states. Also, be sure to see if there are other programs listed, that are part of this program. Be sure to come back and delete them too!
3.Now Defragment your harddrive. Start>Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance>Rearrange items on your harddisk to make programs run faster. DO NOT click on anything in the box to the upper left. Just click on OK, in the small window that comes up, and when it asks you if you’re sure, Yes, is the answer! Click on OK again.
4.Last thing. Piece of advice. I would download CCleaner. It’s a Registry cleaner. It’s free, and it works!
After you delete programs, there are fragmented files left behind. The Defragment feature of Windows, Does Not get rid of these.
Think of Defragment as in this crude example,
You are in a library. You want the book ‘Computers’. It’s supposed to be up on a shelf in the C aisle. Where is it? Down in the Z aisle next to the book on Zebras. Defragment arranges the files on your harddrive, just like a librarian arranges books on shelves. (But a librarian does a Much better job, Believe me! Long story about Windoze)

  2. simple fix–
    to uninstall:
    control panel>add/delete programs
wait for the list to populate and find the rhapsody crap you want off then hit uninstall. yes, this will delete the older/newer versions/everything to do with rhapsody (except your music)
also, clean up some other programs that you dont use while youre at it :)
