Is It Imperative That I Install The Rhapsody Media Manager Software Disc?

We got a Sansa Sandisk MP3 player for christmas. It came with a small installation CD that says it is a Rhapsody media manager. We have a media player already on our computer. So do I need to go ahead and install this software or will I just get stuck paying for a service I don’t need?

What Do I Do Get The Hp Software Installation Message “software Is Being Stalled” But Nothing Happens?

I have a HP Pavilion notebook DV2000t and it originally came with Windows XP but I later upgraded to Windows Vista. Now I wanted to reformat the whole computer so I used disc 1 and 2 of the System Recovery DVDs. Went through the prompts correctly and when it finished to 100%, it restarted and showed the desktop. Then this thing pops up and says Software is being Installed: When complete, your system may automatically restart. Please do not turn off your computer during this process. So I don’t touch it and nothing happens for like a day. It restarted once and it did the same thing, it showed the desktop then this message covered the screen again. So I tried the cds again and it’s doing it again. Can anyone help?

A Technician Installed A New Hard Drive And Now The Recovery Discs Won’t Work! How Can I Re-install Windows?

I have 2 sets of recovery discs, (one I made, the other I purchased from HP). Every time I try to run them, a blue screen comes up saying “A problem has been detected, windows was shutdown to prevent damage. Remove any newly installed hard drives. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured & terminated”
The tech said he used a “Tattoo disc” but he didn’t know which number my system was, so it may be causing this & he’s paid to is install hard ware, “software is up to the customer-AHH
I checked in the BIOS, the hard drive is being recognized, but the numbers listed are different than the number written on the actual hard drive/paper work that came with it. Huh?
It says: WDC WD2000JS-00NCB1 on the BIOS screen, and it says : WES WD2000JS, on the hard drive/paper work. Will that make a difference??
This is my mother’s pc, and she is anxious to get her pc back. (It’s an HP Pavillion, actually, unless I can re-install windows, it’s a paper weight. HELLLPPP????

My Laptop Is Stuck Saying “press F11 To Start Recovery (counts Down From 2 To 1)” On Boot. What Should I Do?

my computer is a Gateway MX3560 notebook. I recently switched out the 80GB hard drive for a 160GB. I installed windows on it but didn’t like how it ran so i put the old one back in and now i am getting the “press F11 to start recovery” message over and over again. I press F11, F8, F2, every key on my keyboard but nothing happens. Is my hard drive dead? If not, how can I fix it? I can still boot from CDs and USB, but that is not my goal…
**my goal is to dual-boot windows xp and SUSE Linux 11.1 KDE on the 160GB HDD.**
The problem is that when I installed windows on the 160GB, drivers and other important software were not installed. (Why is this?)
…I can’t boot into safe mode…
please let me know if you need any additional information.
