What Is The Best Video Editing Software To Use For Editing A Documentary?

I am currently working on a 30 mins documentary as a high school graduation project. What video editing software would you recommend that will allow me to voice over the clip (for example, i want to mute some part of the video to narrate and insert my own comments over them) ?

I would recommend Adobe Premiere for you. It is a simple and pretty much a straightforward editing software that allows you to become flexible.
It is not free and quite expensive.. but seeing that you will only be using it for now, you can download the trial.
The trial does not have any watermarks.. any advertisements included in the video and nothing is added to the video. The video will look like how you made it with the program. The only limit of the trial is that its 30 days only but still.. thats a lot of time.

i would recommend a simple editor, that doesn’t ruin video quality. like AVS Video Editor or Pinnacle, but Pinnacle only processes avis, so look out for that in other editors.

    Depends on your budget but
    Final Cut Pro
    Avid
    or
    Sony Vegas
    would all work fine.
