How Do I Create A Watermark Using Gimp Or Any Other Free Software?

I’d like to apply the watermark to a photo. If you know a free software that can create watermarks, please include a link, and if you can, briefly describe the steps involved in creating a watermark. Thanks a lot.

  1. Who Knows??? says:

There may be better ways of making one, but this ultimately works the same way.
First of all create your watermark as a normal image and then save it. Then open the image you want to apply your watermark too. Then in the window with the image you are applying the watermark to go to Filters and then choose Bitmap. A new window will appear. There is a drop down box at the top of the window make certain it is selected to the image of whatever you wish your to be.
This is basically the spot where you play around with the settings creating to create your watermark. You can see in the preview window what it will look like. You may decide that you wish your watermark to be larger to fit your image you wish to protect. If so then simply cancel out and increase the size of the watermark image. Save it. Then repeat the above steps. When you are satisfied click OK. Presto! If you don’t like it you can then undo it and start over again.
