What Is The Best (preferably Free) Antivirus Software That Takes The Least Resources?

I recently installed Windows on my Intel iMac with Boot Camp and I really have no desire to have my computer ridden with viruses now lol, so I was wondering, what is the best antivirus/antispyware and or firewall software for Windows that doesn’t hog the resources. I know Norton, McAfee, and it’s similarities do this so i’m looking for something (preferably free) that will work. Any suggestions are appreciated!

What’s The Best/data/partition Recovery Software And Methods?

I’ve used Partition Magic (PM) for a while now. I used it again last night. After spending hundreds of hours ripping my cd collection to my computer, I needed more space on the drive. The sizing failed. PM sees the old drive and volume name complete with the space consumed by the data and remaining space–I’m assuming the data is still there. The operating system (WinXP) shows a drive letter but no longer displays the volume name. When you click the drive letter, XP says the drive is not yet formatted and asks you if you wish to format.
Obviously, I’d like to save this volume–the thought of re-ripping my cd collection is overwhelming. Can anyone provide insight as to the appropriate correction and/or make software suggestions. I’m leaning towards StompSoft’s Recover Lost Data software based upon a website review–but I’ve never heard of the product before now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Peace!
