I Can’t Have Access To Hard Disk Ntfs Filesystem?

Someone please can help me how to recover my data from a hard disk with a partition ntfs filesystem to I can’t have access. The hard disk is with 2 primary partitions, the first is a system recovery and the second is where is installed de windows xp and . I tried to mount the C disk using a linux live cd but an input output error appear. Also with some recovery utilities I can’t get results.
I can use the system recovery for restore my windows but this proccess will format the disk and I want recover some important data before.

If I Am Writing Lots Of Data On One Partition Will It Affect Another?

I have a partition 97 GB which the boot record has been corrupted on. I have 50+ GB of unallocated space and another 10 GB Partition. Can I safely use data recovery software on one partition to transfer the files from one partition to another? Both would be with Win XP Pro of course. The program I intend to use is here http://www.runtime.org/gdb.htm its own documentation states that I should use 2 HDDs but wouldnt 2 partitions work the same way? I have E-mailed them and didnt recive much help. Im sure you guys can do much better.

What Would You Say, Is The Best Free Antivirus Software Program?

I use AVG Free Edition! Should I continue using that, or is there a Free Antivirus that you can recommend, that does a better job and has better protection? Also, if I do change to something else, do I download that program first, then remove the old one, or do I remove AVG first, then download the new Antivirus?

How To Recover Data From Encrypted Partition After Windows Have Been Formatted?

Hi, I am looking for means (data recovery tool or any other method) by which I can recover data from a hard disk which was encrypted using Safeguard Easy from Utimaco. The data is absolutely important to me. The OS (XP) was formatted and safeguard reinstalled. However the old partitions remain beyond capture. If you can please help me in this, I would remain ever grateful.

Hard disk drive partitioning is the creation of logical divisions upon a hard disk that allows one to apply operating system-specific logical formatting.
In layman’s terms, partitioning a hard drive can make it appear to be more than one hard drive. Thus, a single physical hard disk drive may host several logical drives.
Partitioning a hard disk drive defines specific areas (the partitions) within the disk. A partition may constitute an entire logical drive or it may form part of a larger virtual drive which could span over several partitions and hard disks. Partitions must be formatted with file systems which are understood by an operating system, enabling the writing and reading of files.
HDD can not get currupt due to partioning. There are several softwares available to recover data but better get it done by a professional because if this job is not done properly HDD can be further currupt.
