Hard Disk Drive Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I have a 250 Gb hard disk. Before I re-installed Windows Xp, there was no partition on the disk that is why I plan to make a partition of 2 (100Gb) & 1 (50Gb), but when i’m finished making the 2(100Gb) partition, how come there is 37.5Gb of RAW space left instead of 50Gb. What happened to the remaining 12.5 Gb of RAW space lost? Is there another way of recovering my lost space? Pls. someone help me with this problem because that is a lot of space lost. Do I have to use any particular software to recover it?

What Is A Good File Recovery Software That May Be Able To Fix This……?

last night i was moving some hard drives around and for some reason my OS duplicated the partitions that were on my OS HDD onto my other HDD that i was using to store my movies and games and such.
I’ve heard of programs that can recover lost data but im not sure if 600+gb is recoverable..
when i go into my disk management it says that I have 174.92gb on a ntfs partition, then 58.59gb on a RAW partition which seems to be corrupt… then 465.75gb of unallocated space…..
can i recover this back to one partition and all of my data back?

Can You Recover Pictures From A Memory Stick Camera On The Computer After You Upload The Photos?

So here’s the deal. I have a camera with a memory stick and deleted some pictures. After I deleted the pictures, I uploaded the pictures that I left on the camera into the computer. Can I recover the deleted pictures on the computer, or would I have to have my camera plugged in and find the deleted pictures on that? By the way after I put the pictures on the computer I filled up the memory stick with other pictures. Can you even recover deleted pictures with memory sticks? I know you can with SD cards but what about memory sticks? Thanks!

Partition Recovery System?

I have a computer that won;;t start..when i turn it on it looks liek its gogin to start normaly but then the loading windows stays there forever….i tried loggin in in safe mode with bno luck since it freezeds when its booitgn up.. i trie to make a reovery buit again it frezzes…
i have important documents in teh computer and i want to knwo if there is a software that i can burn in a cd and boot my computer from that cd..adn recover my files. so then i can just reintall a fresh copy if windows..

How Do I Create A Safety Backup Of The Os(winxp) That Can Be Restored From A Distinct Partition On My Laptop?

I’ve seen factory installed laptops that come with this. In the event of problems they can boot and restore to the ‘factory preset’ … which restores the backup from a hidden recovery partition (overwriting all existing data).
What sort of software would I use or how would I go about creating such a thing?
(I’ve got a laptop without it, it’s a super-light variety with no CD drive and so re-installs are a pain)

Run Data Recovery Before Or After Trying To Fix Physically Damaged Hard Drive Sectors?

Trying to recover some files that disappeared after playing with partitions.
The laptop hard drive seems to have a lot of bad sectors however and is probably damaged. (Problems copying files, slow, etc.)
Should I try to to do data recovery first or try to fix the damaged drive. Will fixing the bad sectors affect the data recovery software?
