I recommend that you use a live Linux CD such as Ubuntu. You can boot straight into the operating system without having to install it onto your hard drive, and from there you could probably find your files, and burn them to a CD. All of this software is pre-installed on the Ubuntu live CD which you can get from http://www.ubuntu.com/.
Remove the hard drive and set it as a slave in another computer, then recover your files. Save them to DVD. Reformat the hard drive, and this time do not do anything stupid like putting seven partitions on a single disk. See what it leads to?? SEE? One partition, MAYBE two. Three is for Linux geeks, and they don’t need to ask for help when their hard drive crashes. They already have incremental backups in place. KEEP IT SIMPLE!!
