I want to know if I can buy an adaptor of some sort to hook up my Television Cable to my laptop computer. Can I watch cable on my laptop? Can i record it? Thanks.

You just need a DVR add-on device. There are a lot out there and it can be confusing, but it just needs to have a coax input basically. if you want to watch THE channel that is tuned on the box, then that will work. Otherwise you will basically need a second but PC-interfaceable cable box, which may not exist. In any case, recording from the DVR then will be really easy with the software that comes with the DVR. Some of them start at around $50 for a USB version.
You can hookup your cable box to your laptop, but it will cost you. As for the recording, you can get some software to do that, or get a DVR. You can the adapter here-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…
